If you are returning to the UK from a country not on the government's 'travel corridor list', you will need to self-isolate and not leave your home for a full 10 days.
You can now reduce that time by taking a test from our approved private provider. All of our partner laboratories are approved by the UK government for the International 'Test-To-Release' scheme.
Our Test to Release home test kits are suitable if you are travelling from overseas and need to self-isolate. By taking this test, you will be able to reduce your self-isolation period providing you test negative.
The earliest you can take a test is 5 full days after you have left the non-exempt country, territory or region.
If the test is negative you can stop self-isolating as soon as you get the result.
If the test is positive you need to self-isolate for another 10 days. Count the 10 days starting from the day you took the test, or from when you first had symptoms if that is earlier.
Before arriving you’ll need to:
You cannot take a test through NHS Test & Trace to shorten your self-isolation period. You must continue to self-isolate if the result from an NHS Test & Trace test is negative.
If you did not book the test before you arrived in England, you can book one after you arrive. You will need to complete another passenger locator form to opt into the scheme.
You simply order the test, we send you the nose and throat swab test kit to the comfort of your home. After doing the test you return the swab to our lab with the return Royal Mail 24 documentation included. Using your swab our lab gets to work to identify COVID-19 virus by carrying out a PCR assay which is a laboratory-based process which takes several hours.
We then securely email you the results.

You then simply follow the enclosed instructions to take your sample asap 5 full days after leaving the non-exempt country. Then return the sample to the lab via the inclusive Royal Mail 24 service, or book our private courier service or use one of your choice. We work with some of the fastest labs in the business. After receipt of your sample our labs aim to report your result between 4pm-10pm the day after receipt. This is achieved in the majority of cases. On rare occasions, due to the very high quality standards needed to be met, sample processing needs to be repeated and that can result in reporting the following day.
