Early detection of cases of high blood pressue (Hypertension)
An estimated 5.5 million people have undiagnosed high blood pressure (hypertension) across the country and by booking in to have your blood pressure checked can help with early detection of hypertension.
If a patient's blood pressure is high during a initial check in store, they may be offered a 24-hour ABPM device to monitor their blood pressure at home. This involves fitting a blood pressure cuff and monitor that takes readings throughout the day and night.
This booking is for people
- Aged 40 years or over and does not have a current diagnosis of high blood pressure (hypertension)
- Or under the age of 40 and had a recognised family history of high blood pressure
